CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Florida Gateway College's Emma Jeffers was named the NJCAA Division II Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week on Wednesday.
Jeffers, a sophomore from Lake Butler, Fla., was the Timberwolves' top runner at the Willie Laster Invitational, hosted by Albany State University.
In a field of 81 runners, comprised of both two- and four-year colleges, Jeffers was the top NJCAA finisher, placing 12th overall.
She clocked a 5K time of 22:21.40.
On Tuesday, Jeffers was named FCSAA Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week.
