CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Miami Dade College's Katianna Betancur was named the NJCAA Division I Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week on Wednesday.
Betancur, a sophomore libero from Medellin, Colombia, averaged 6.5 digs over 15 sets last week. She also averaged 1.1 assists and 0.4 service aces.
In helping Miami Dade to a 5-0 week, she delivered three matches with 21+ digs, highlighted by 25 vs. Jefferson and 24 vs. Santa Fe.
On Tuesday, Betancur was named FCSAA Division I Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week.
