WESLEY CHAPEL, Fla. - Pensacola State College claimed the FCSAA Division II Women's Soccer Championship with a 3-0 victory over Pasco-Hernando State College on Friday.

The win clinched the four-game regular season head-to-head series between the FCSAA rivals for Pensacola State, who has won each of the FCSAA's first three Division II titles.

Having defeated the Bobcats 2-0 and 4-0 back in September, the Pirates knew the easiest path to the championship was to come away from the weekend road trip with a split. They accomplished that in Friday's first game.

A perfectly placed header by Tamryn DenHerder followed by a PK from Vivian Kettenhausen put Pensacola State in front 2-0 at the intermission. Pirates goalie Chloe Widger did the rest, turning away seven shots on goal by Pasco-Hernando State.

Makayla Motes added an insurance goal in the 76th minute for the Pirates.

The teams played to a 2-2 draw in Saturday's finale. The Bobcats got goals from Klarissa Zawosky and Alexandra Goines while Kettenhausen scored her second goal of the weekend for Pensacola State, along with one from Sadie Van Tessell.

Pensacola State will move on to the NJCAA Division II South District Tournament in Millbrook, Ala., October 31 and November 1. The Pirates will be joined by the champions from the ACCC and Region 10, as well as one at-large.
