DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Daytona State College won the 2025 FCSAA Division I Men's Soccer Championship, defeating Eastern Florida State College, 2-1.

The Falcons, with the win, moved one step closer towards earning the opportunity to play in the National Tournament in its home stadium later this month. Daytona State will play at USC Lancaster on Saturday, November 8 for the Southeast District Championship.

Saturday's finale marked another exciting chapter between the arch rivals and delivered another exciting finish.

Missed opportunities was the story of the first half for both sides as the game went to intermission scoreless. That changed quickly after the break.

Joao Victor Loureiro found the net less than two minutes into the second half to give Eastern Florida State a 1-0 lead.

The Falcons needed only six minutes to find the equalizer on a goal by Daniel Adzah. Nine minutes later, Adzah scored again to put Daytona State in front.

The Daytona State defense and goal Matthew McCall took it from there. McCall finished with six saves on the night.

Adzah was named the Most Outstanding Player of the Tournament and the Falcons' Joe Avallone was named the FCSAA Coach of the Year.
