FCSAA announces annual athletics awards

FCSAA's Annual Awards

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Florida College System Activities Association (FCSAA) has announced the winners of its annual athletics awards, recognizing excellence in the classroom and competition during the 2025-26 academic year.

Male and Female Athletes of the Year were selected from a group of nominees comprised of all FCSAA Player of the Year recipients, as well as individuals submitted from other sports sanctioned by the FCSAA (men's golf, men's and women's swimming & diving, men's and women's track & field), provided the nominee was named NJCAA All-America during the 2025-26 season.  

Likewise, Male and Female Scholar-Athletes of the Year were selected from a group of 14 nominees. Nominees must have accumulated 48 credit hours with a minimum 3.30 GPA and completed at least three full-time terms, including at least one at a FCSAA instituion. Citizenship, community service and athletic prowess may be taken into consideration. 

Male and Female Academic Teams of the Year for small (10 or fewer participants) and large (11+ participants) rosters were also selected. 

All awards were voted on by the Council for Athletic Affairs' Executive Board. 


Male Athlete of the Year

  • Helped Gulf Coast State advanced to the semifinals of the NJCAA DI Men's Basketball Championship
  • 2025-26 stats: averaged 19.4 points, 4.5 rebounds and 6.1 assists

  • 2025 Division I All-FCSAA
  • Led Miami Dade 2025 FCSAA Division I Championship
  • 2025 stats: averaged 3.8 kills, 2.8 digs, 0.3 assists, 0.5 blocks and 0.4 service aces

Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year

Kustarr Webb

Kustarr Webb, Polk State
Baseball

  • 2026 Bill Tuten Award recipient, presented to the FCSAA's top baseball scholar-athlete
  • Completed his A.A. degree at Polk State College in May 2026, achieving a perfect 4.00 GPA and graduating Summa Cum Laude
  • Earned Male Athlete of the Year honors from Polk State in 2026
  • Was a two-year starter for the Eagles
  • Batted .479 as a freshman before batting through an injury-plagued 2026 season
  • Finished his sophomore campaign with five home runs and 37 RBI and was Polk State's Team Captain
  • Off the field, he read to and mentored elementary students in the local schools, participated in numerous camps and clinics for the local community as well as the MLK Parade and City of Winter Haven Christmas parade
  • Will continue his academic and athletic careers at Bethune-Cookman University this fall

Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year

Jessica Horn

  • 2026 Roberta Stokes Award recipient, presented to the FCSAA's top volleyball scholar-athlete
  • A Pre-Med major, she graduated from SJR State with a perfect 4.0 GPA
  • Achieved excellence in the classroom while navigating both the indoor and beach volleyball campaigns for the Vikings
  • Helped SJR State to the 2025 FCSAA DII Championship and was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player
  • Earned First-team All-America honors in 2025 as well as First-team All-Academic honors
  • Led FCSAA DII and was fourth nationally in assists at 10.4 per set
  • Member of the SJR State Chapter of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Pi Beta Kappa
  • Will continue her academic and athletic careers at Palm Beach Atlantic University this fall
