TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Florida College System Activities Association has announced its Weekly Awards in Baseball and Softball.

FCSAA Weekly Awards

Congratulations to the following student-athletes who received recognition for their outstanding performance in athletic competition:

  • FCSAA DI Baseball Player of the Week: Myles Davis, State College of Florida
  • FCSAA DI Baseball Pitcher of the Week: Jordan Vargas, Miami Dade
  • FCSAA DI Softball Player of the Week: Nicole Edmiaston, Florida SouthWestern
  • FCSAA DI Softball Pitcher of the Week: Cailyn Heyl, Northwest Florida State
  • FCSAA DII Baseball Player of the Week: Andrew Merchant, Lake-Sumter State
  • FCSAA DII Baseball Pitcher of the Week: Gehrig Graham, South Florida State
  • FCSAA DII Softball Player of the Week: Savannah Ellis, Lake-Sumter State
  • FCSAA DII Softball Pitcher of the Week: Kailyn Duquette, Lake-Sumter State

  • Baseball
    • DI rankings: (7) Florida SouthWestern, (11) Indian River State, (12) Gulf Coast State, (18) Northwest Florida State, (25) State College of Florida
    • DII rankings: (1) Pasco-Hernando State, (17) South Florida State, (18) St. Johns River State
    • The FCSAA DII Baseball Championship will take place at Pasco-Hernando State College, May 1-4. The winner of the four-team, double-elimination event will advance to the NJCAA DII South District Championship Series in Troy, Ala., May 9-11 against the ACCC Champion. 
    • The FCSAA DI Baseball Championship gets underway Tuesday, April 29 with the Wild Card game between Eastern Florida State College and Pensacola State College. First pitch is 5 pm at St. Johns River State College. Regional play begins Friday, May 2 across the state - Florida SouthWestern State College, Gulf Coast State College, Indian River State College and Northwest Florida State College were announced as the regional hosts on Monday. The four regional winners will move on to the Championship Round in Port Charlotte, Fla., May 9-12.
  • Softball
    • DI rankings: (2) Florida SouthWestern, (3) Northwest Florida State, (4) Indian River State, (6) Seminole State, (8) Miami Dade, (15) Daytona State, (17) Eastern Florida State, (18) Santa Fe, (23) Chipola
    • DII rankings: (1) St. Johns River State, (17) Lake-Sumter State
    • The FCSAA DII Softball Championship will take place at St. Johns River State College, May 1-3. The winner of the four-team, double-elimination event will host the NJCAA DII South District Championship Series, May 9-10 against the ACCC Champion.
  • Men's Golf
    • DI: Eastern Florida State finished second at the NJCAA DI Southeast District Men's Golf Championship and earned an automatic bid in the NJCAA DI Men's Golf Championship
    • DII: Lake-Sumter State currently sits in fourth place after day one at the NJCAA DII Southeast District Men's Golf Championship in Bristol, Tenn. 
  • Women's Flag Football
    • Florida Gateway won the inaugural FCSAA Women's Flag Football Championship, defeating Daytona State, 37-0. The Falcons advanced to the title game with a 19-0 win over Pasco-Hernando State. Both Florida Gateway and Daytona State will head to the NJCAA Flag Football Invitational in Kansas City, Kan. 
  • Beach Volleyball
    • Palm Beach State, State College of Florida and Lake-Sumter State grabbed the top three seeds in the eight-team bracket for the NJCAA Beach Volleyball Championship, which gets underway May 1 in Huntsville, Ala.
