DI Baseball Player of the Week

Cian Copeland

  • Went 6-for-11 in a three-game sweep of Daytona State, including a two-HR, four-RBI effort in game one, where he was 3-for-4, scored four runs and walked twice
  • Finished a triple shy of the cycle in game two, going 3-for-3 with four RBI

Bre Hughes

  • Recorded a hit, run scored and RBI in each game and had three multi-hit games to start the week
  • Reached base four times (2-for-2, 2 BB) in game one vs. Gulf Coast State and was 2-for-3 with a homer and three RBI in game two
  • After going 2-for-4 in game one vs. Pensacola State, she homered and drove in two runs in game two

  • Recorded complete-game victories against Miami Dade, Santa Fe and Central Florida, the latter coming in the form of a one-hit shutout
  • Recorded the final out in a 5-3 win over Miami Dade to notch the save and secure a doubleheader sweep of the Sharks
  • In 19.1 total innings in the circle, she allowed 11 hits, seven runs (two earned) and four walks with eight strikeouts

Brandon Vargas

  • Hit safely and scored in each game for the Panthers
  • Went 3-for-5 in consecutive games vs. State College of Florida and Palm Beach State to begin the week
  • In the series finale vs. Palm Beach State, he reached base four times (2-for-4, 2 BB), culminating with a walk-off grand slam in the Panthers' 11-7 victory

Beach Volleyball Pair of the Week

  • Playing at the #1 pair for the Panthers, the Australian duo went 6-2 over the past two weeks
  • Was a perfect 3-0 in FCSAA play, with wins over State College of Florida, Florida State College at Jacksonville and Lake-Sumter State
  • Picked up non-FCSAA wins vs. nationally-ranked (NAIA) Webber and NCAA DII foes Florida Southern and Barry
  • Only losses were to NCAA DI Florida Gulf Coast and nationally-ranked Florida International, the latter going to the distance before falling 15-13 in the third set
  • Led Palm Beach State to its best regular season record in program history, which includes a perfect record vs. two-year competition

  • Recorded 10 extra points

Women's Flag Football Defensive Player of the Week

London Jenkins

  • Over five games, she recorded 24 flag pulls, 10 pass break-ups and five interceptions
  • Scored a total of four defensive touchdowns - three via "Pick 6" and a fourth when she took a lateral to the house after a teammate recorded an INT

Women's Golf Player of the Month

Tylar Whiting

Tylar Whiting, Daytona State
So. | South Daytona, Fla. 

  • Finished fifth out of 90 participants at the Coach Mo Classic hosted by Furman with scores of 71-75-72, beating out players on top-ranked NCAA programs such as Purdue, College of Charleston, Charlotte, Western Kentucky, Florida Gulf Coast, Florida International, North Florida and Minnesota. This performance landed Tylar in the WAGR's rankings.
  • At the Western Kentucky Invitational, she finished 34th out of 76 participants, posting scores of 76-80-73 in tough conditions against NCAA competition
  • Is currently ranked No. 4 in the NJCAA rankings
